I'm still keeping up with everyone else's blogs. I've also started following a lot of craft/decorating/etc blogs which has inspired me to do a little crafting of my own. I've slowly started adding more of my touch to our house. I made several things around Christmas time including this for myself. Sorry for the horrible picture...You can't see the funky paper.
I decoupaged scrapbook paper to wooden letters. I've had these made since before Christmas......I finally hung them up a week or 2 ago. I've also made a few other signs...similar to the subway signs....just Flach'ed up a bit. I made 1 for the living room, 1 for the bathroom and 1 for the kitchen. I have the kitchen sign hung up but I'm still searching for the right frames for the bathroom and living room. My signs are printed on 11x13 photo paper:

Living Room:

These are the successful crafts.....I've had a couple unsuccessful crafts though. I have several fun vases, bowls, etc....that I've kept part of my collection of wine corks in. But apparently people start to worry about you when said 50 gallon fish tanks vases, bowls, etc...begin to overflow with wine corks so I'm looking for something else to fill in some of those spaces. I have a few different ideas.....The first of which was followed by a failed attempt. I'm not oppossed to buying these decorations but thought it may be neat, relaxing and fun to try it myself. Here are a few bad photos of what I was attempting to make:
I mean how hard can it be to glue some twine, leaves, etc...to a foam ball......um HARD! I wish I would have taken a picture of my massive fail because it was quite hilairous! I will likely just purchase these. I also found a trio of these:
The trio I found was in off white and 2 shades of pink. I'd love to try to make this but I have no idea of even how to attempt that so I will likely just purchase some of these. I've also just bought a few funky platters and bowls to try to craft up somehow - not sure what I want to do with these yet.
Saturday, I'm taking a trip to Champaign with my mom and sisters to Target, Hobby Lobby, etc....since Walmart is about the only option I have in Effingham. I have a few other ideas that I need supplies for. I've been looking for something for my front door....I've found a million wreaths that I want to try to make so I need to narrow my choices down and make one. Not a flowery wreath....a fun funky one. So hopefully, I will have some successful craft pictures to show you soon!

bout time... hahaha! I kinda want to see these failed attempt pictures though, sounds awfully interesting:)
ReplyDeleteLove the crafting :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear that you tried making those foam ball things...I was going to do it and now I think I'll just buy them! Not glad that it didn't go well for you, but glad now that I won't have to try it for myself.
Have fun at Hobby Lobby. I love that place. And Michael's, too!!
your name turned out great!
ReplyDeleteso glad you posted your crafty ideas! it's fun to see what other people come up with to see if i can do it too. :)
keep posting them...even the ones that don't work!
Love all the crafting!! So, speaking of wine corks....we still have all of ours. I've been looking for a sort of shadow box frame where the top is open so we can just drop them in and hang it on the wall by our bar in the basement. Then, when it's full, we just stop collecting them and no one has to know the difference :-) Just an idea for you if you have a place on a wall to put something like that!
ReplyDeleteits been 2 weeks and nothing new on here... where are your wreath pictures i painfully helped you with?
